10/10 Paul Gunby (December 15, 2004)
The Stones at their punkest - raw - dangerous - sexy - feeling - Live! One of the best Stones albums. This is a must have for every rock/pop music lover. This record answers the questions... Why do women find Mick sexy? How can the Stones keep up with the new punk rockers? Are they on drugs? What's all the fuss?

Recorded in Paris at an old Nazi SS depot, the energy is edgy, the moods are dangerous, alive, longing, angry, hyped, horny. The mix of styles is incredible... Dance, Rock, Punk, R & B, Country.

The smash hit "Miss You" leads off with the Stones building on the dance vibe they touched on with Hot Stuff, Fingerprint File, and others. The Punk cuts are so raw and cathartic - When the Whip, Lies, and Shattered. The Rock is Defient and strong - Respectable, Keith's testament "Before they Make Me Run" - released just after his major drug bust in Canada. The R&B of Just My Imagination is very believable and a fine version. Some Girls - the quintessential take on Micks womanizing, tells a sexy tale of doing it all, seeing it all and still paying for it.

Then Beast of Burden - classic Stones R&B/R&R cooks up a few bumps and grinds, and we have the lovesick country blues rock of Faraway Eyes - perfect stuff.

If you haven't heard this whole record - I soooo envy you - getting to discover this classic is a major Rock treat!
Do yourself a favor and buy this one now.
