Average song rating Some folks would laugh at the idea of the great McCartney being influenced by everyman Ringo Starr, but those opening thumps of the drums gives me the same feeling of uplift as "Fading In, Fading Out", the opening track of Ringo's terrific Choose Love album.

Anyone who dislikes this song does so because they obstinately want to. It is upbeat and catchy and inoffensive. It reminds me somewhat of "Swingtown" by Macca's old friend Steve Miller.

Lyrics

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Everybody gonna dance around
Everybody gonna hit the ground
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

[Chorus:]
Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

[Whistling]

Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna stamp their feet
Everybody's gonna feel the beat
Everybody wonna dance around tonight

[Bridge:]
Everybody's gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Everybody gonna jump and shout
Everybody gonna sing it out
Everybody gonna dance around tonight

Well you can come on to my place if you want to
You can do anything you want to do

Everybody gonna dance tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright
Everybody gonna dance around tonight
Everybody gonna dance around tonight
Everybody gonna feel alright tonight
