Bip Bop

Average song rating Things doesn't get better with Bip Bop. The guitar sounds awful in the start, and so does the very simply played bass. I would have fitted well on Paul's first solo album, McCartney. And maybe that is the point with Wild Life: it's what McCartney was for Paul solo. Nothing more than some random things that had been lying around for a day or so. Another song that is going nowhere and is therefore far too long. It goes on and on and on, without any change or progression. Bobber April 11, 2012
Average song rating When critics sharpened up their pens to lambast the Wild Life album, "Bip Bop" was the song most often singled out for their vituperations. "Bip Bop" is practically a girl's jump-rope jingle--in fact, a part of me wonders if that is precisely how this song came about, by way of seven-year-old stepdaughter Heather. It's catchy and mildly enjoyable, but mostly you're wondering, "This is the guy who wrote 'Penny Lane' ?" Paul himself stated that "It just goes nowhere. I still cringe every time I hear it." Ironically, "Bip Bop" is one of the two songs from Wild Life which gets exposure on the Wingspan compilation.

Lyrics

Bip bop, bip bip bop
Bip bop, bip bip band

Dig your bottom dollar
Put it in your hand

Try to hang out
Underneath the stand

Put your hands together
Gonna see a band

Treat me like a good boy
Treat me like a man

Take me hair and curlers
But treat me like a man
