Average song rating In retrospect, with Heather grown and Linda gone, it makes the heart glad and sad, too .... Eric Stewart September 23, 2011
Average song rating "Mama's Little Girl" was actually recorded during the Red Rose Speedway sessions, but it fits much better in this collection as it completes the family trifecta of songs for Mary ("Mary Had a Little Lamb"), Linda ("Little Woman Love") and this one for Heather. Among all the songs in the Wild Life CD, this is the jewel, although it remains mostly unknown even among avid McCartney fans. A truly excellent folkish acoustic track which sat on the shelf for seventeen years, until finally seeing release as the B-side of the single version of "Put it There" in 1989. Lyrics

Looking like a rag doll
Mama's little girl
Singing like a skylark
Mama's little girl
Better give me some time for this heart of mine
Cause I just can't take it all in
Still I will remember
Mama's little girl

Ohhhh mama's little girl, little girl
Mama's little girl, little girl

Looking like a rosebud
Mama's little girl
Pickin' up a mountain
Mama's little girl
Better give me some time for this heart of mine
Cause I just can't take it all in
Still we will remember
Mama's little girl

Ohhhh mama's little girl, little girl
Mama's little girl

Looking like a rag doll
Singing like a skylark
Growing like a rosebud
Pickin' up a mountain
Mama's little girl
Mama's little girl

Better give me some time for this heart of mine
Cause I just can't take it all in
Still I will remember
Mama's little girl
Still we will remember
Mama's little girl
Still we will remember
Mama's little girl

Ohhhh mama's little girl, little girl
Mama's little girl, little girl
Mama's little girl
