Average song rating Tony Visconti did another great job here with the orchestration, as proved in the opening section. Wonderful brass. Another great song in my humble. Denny's and Linda's backing vocals are spot on all through the song. Great rhythm guitar once again. Love the little piano lick (1.59) followed by the keyboard solo. Simple and effective. Good rocking tune this. The sax solo to finish the song of is just pure genius. Bobber April 11, 2012

Average song rating I dare Sir Paul McCartney to look me in the eye, keep a straight face, and tell me that "jet" and "suffragette" make a legitimate rhyming pair.

That aside, what a blast. No other McCartney song so compels me to crank the volume up to 10 and yell my head off (and I NEVER miss the "YAHOO!!" before the final verse nor the "Suffrage-yeh-yeh-yette-OOOWH!" at the end).

Lyrics

Jet! I can almost remember their funny faces
That time you told me that
You were going to be marrying soon.
And jet, I thought the only
Lonely place was on the moon.
Jet! Jet!

Jet! Was your father as bold as a sergeant major?
How come he told you that
You were hardly old enough yet?
And jet, I thought the major
Was a lady suffragette.
Jet! Jet!

Ah, matter, want jet to always love me?
Ah, matter, want jet to always love me?
Ah, matter, much later.

Jet! With the wind in your hair of a thousand laces.
Climb on the back and we'll
Go for a ride in the sky.
And jet, I thought the major
Was a lady suffragette.
Jet! Jet!
