Arrow Through Me

Average song rating I have always loved the overall atmosphere of this song. A showcase that Paul could easily switch from one style (Old Siam Sir) to another on an extremely high level. The brass is simply great and so is the bass (synth?). Nice production with the little touch of reverb in the vocals here and there. Bobber May 18, 2012
Average song rating One of Paul's finest set of lyrics, and a very cool late-1970's Average White Band sort of horns sound. I also like that little electronic "arrow" sound effect. You know, if you combine the final six tracks of the previous album London Town (including the two bonus tracks) with the first seven tracks of Back to the Egg (concluding with this song), the resulting mix would have been an absolutely incredible album. Lyrics

Ooh, baby,
You couldn't have done a worse thing to me,
If you'd had taken an arrow and runned right through me.
Uh, uh, uh, uh.

Ooh, baby,
A bird in the hand is worth two flying,
But when it came to love I knew you'd be lying.

It could have been a finer fling,
Would have been a major attraction.
With no other thing
Offering a note of distraction.
Come on, get up, get under way and bring your love.

Ooh, baby,
You wouldn't have found a more down hero,
If you'd had started at nothing and counted to zero.

Oo-oo-oo.

Ooh, baby,
You couldn't have done a worse thing to me,
If you'd had taken an arrow and runned right through me.

It could have been a finer fling,
Flying in a righter direction.
With no other thing
Featuring but love and affection.
Come on, get up, get under way and bring your love.

Ooh, baby,
You wouldn't have found a more down hero,
If you'd had started at nothing and counted to zero.

Ah ... Ooh ...
