Lyrics

Tonight's the night we'll make history, as sure as dogs can fly
And I'll take any risk to tie back the hands of time
And stay with you here all night
So take your seats and don't be late, we need your spirits high
To turn on these theatre lights and brighten the darkest skies
Here at the Paradise....

Interpretation

A.D. 1928 is an introduction to the Paradise Theatre theme, representing the grand opening of the Theater. The expression "as sure as dogs can fly" is probably a reference to Sparky The Flying Dog, one of the acts on the Theater marquee seen on the front cover of the album.
