The Good's Gone

Average song rating In 1965 a four-minute rock and roll song was considered a marathon (at this point in their career, the Beatles cracked the three minute barrier only a couple times). "The Good's Gone" extends that far because The Who take this simple arrangement and find an irresistable groove that I wish could go on another six minutes. Roger Daltrey fronts this with an uncharacteristic low-pitched world-weary vocal (similar to that heard on "It's Hard"). Not as familiar as the two iconic tracks from this album, but very nearly as rocking and enjoyable. Bruce Beatlefan December 15, 2007

Lyrics

I know when I've had enough
When I think your love is rough

chorus:
The good's gone
The good's gone
The good's gone
The good's gone
The good's gone out of our love
I know it's wrong
We should enjoy it, but
The good's gone
The good's gone

Once we used to get along
Now, each time we kiss, it's wrong

(chorus)

Now it ain't no fun
And the good's gone now
We used to love as one
But we have forgotten now

I know when I've had enough
When I think your love is rough

(chorus)

It's gone forever
