Give Me Some Truth

Average song rating Here we go again. John is ruining his album with another rant. He drops in immediately from the start. Pity. The drums are very heavy and the rhythm section in total is pompous and far too slow to give the song the power it should have. Is that guitar solo from George Harrison? It sounds like him and it shows me that, if I’m right, George lacked an original idea. Pretty boring song to listen to,all in all. Bobber February 20, 2013
Average song rating A good, hard-hitting song with passionate, well-crafted lyrics...but...well, here's my problem: In his previous album John boldly proclaims "I don't believe in Yoga...Bible...Jesus...Buddha...Mantra...etc, etc. (the song "God"). In his next album John sings of meeting a fellow, David Peel, who reels John and Yoko in, hook, line, and sinker with deep truths like 'the Pope smokes dope every day' (the song "New York City"). It seems John (during this particular phase of his life) was one of those folks who hadn't the foggiest notion the difference between a wedding cake and a dogturd. Give Me Some Truth, indeed. Thank goodness John came out of that foolishness eventually. Bruce Beatlefan June 19, 2006

Lyrics

I'm sick and tired of hearing things from uptight-short sighted-arrow minded hypocritics
All i want is the truth
Just give me some truth

I've had enough of reading things by nuerotic-psychotic-pig headed politicians
All i want is the truth
Just give me some truth

No short haired-yellow bellied son of tricky dicky is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
Money for dope
Money for rope

I'm sick to death of seeing things from tight lipped-condescending -mommies little chauvinists
All i want is the truth
Just give me some truth

I've had enough of watching scenes of schizophrenic - ego - centric - paranoic - prima - donnas
All i want is the truth
Just give me some truth
