Cold Turkey

Average song rating Another live version of Cold Turkey. Was there really nothing else to put on the record. I guess not. This is from December 1969 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London. Tuning and microphone feedback at the start. Cold Turkey is a good song in itself, this live version is over the top. Clocking over 8 minutes, one can imagine what the last 4 or 5 minutes sound like. John acting the cold turkey indeed. Bobber September 11, 2013
Average song rating To me, it is hypocritical to call yourself a fan of John Lennon and refuse to listen to or acknowledge Yoko Ono's art. Sorry, guys, I don't think you can have the one without the other. This song is purely John Lennon doing Yoko, her songwriting style, her vocal style, her everything. And Cold Turkey's one of his best singles. John and Yoko are inseparable (just as John and Paul are inseparable); I don't think Yoko writes some of her finest songs ("Let Me Count the Ways", "Walking on Thin Ice") without using what she learned from John. Lyrics

Temperature's rising
Fever is high
Can't see no future
Can't see no sky

My feet are so heavy
So is my head
I wish I was a baby
I wish I was dead

Cold turkey has got me on the run

My body is aching
Goose-pimple bone
Can't see no body
Leave me alone

My eyes are wide open
Can't get to sleep
One thing I'm sure of
I'm in at the deep freeze

Cold turkey has got me on the run

Cold turkey has got me on the run

Thirty-six hours
Rolling in pain
Praying to someone
Free me again

Oh I'll be a good boy
Please make me well
I promise you anything
Get me out of this hell

Cold turkey has got me on the run
Oh, oh, oh, oh
