Gaetano Donizetti's Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali is not a very popular opera, and most likely you won’t find it currently staged anywhere.
But recently, an opera lover—like me—wrote to me on Facebook and asked if I had a translation. I didn’t, even though I have many other libretti already prepared. I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t say no. I told him I would try to make it as soon as possible.
It turned out to be quite challenging. The result may not be perfect, but the full two-act opera (1831) is now translated and available on my website in a side-by-side Italian–English format.
If you are interested in this rare and very funny opera, you can read it here on the website.

And as always, feel free to message me — I’m always glad to connect with fellow opera lovers.
